Heol Loveluck is a development of 48 new dwellings for Hafod Housing Association on a one-hectare site near Bridgend town centre. The scheme will consist of 24 apartments and 24 houses, both two bedrooms and three bedrooms dwellings. Planning permission was granted in May 2016 with completion in early 2019.
A perimeter development approach was adopted in order to help maximise the density and to provide the most efficient use of the site. Family homes are located at the outer edge, whilst the larger, three storey apartment blocks create a focal point at its centre.
Drawing on the typology of dwellings in the surrounding area, the majority of the houses are paired into semi-detached forms. Not only does this ensure that the development sits comfortably in its context but it also allow the required parking provision to be tucked away alongside the dwellings rather than in front, ensuring that the street scene does not become dominated by the cars.
Shortlisted for Insider Property Awards 2019 ‘Residential Development of the Year’, all dwellings are designed to meet Welsh Government DQR and Lifetime Homes requirements and in accordance with Secured by Design and RNIB Standards.
