Plas Bryn Rhosyn, the second of four new-build care homes for Grwp Gwalia in Neath, opened to residents in November 2015. The home, designed to the progressive standards prescribed by the University of Stirling’s Dementia Services Development Centre, provides a high quality care environment for 60 residents. The building comprises clusters of up to 12 en-suite bedrooms arranged around individual courtyard gardens, and terraces to upper floor clusters, which allow all residents easy access to external spaces. The clusters also incorporate wandering loops and memory walls, where residents can sit amongst memory-jogging artefacts / objects.
