The recently completed Dyfrig House, for the Seren Group, was officially opened by Vaughan Gething (Deputy Minister for Health) and The Lord Mayor of Cardiff, Councillor David Walker on 19th November. The newly refurbished and extended facility for the homeless in Cardiff provides 21 beds of accommodation, staff areas and flexible communal spaces. It replaces outdated facilities and seeks to create a more legible, high quality environment, fit for 21st century living, and one that residents and staff can be proud of.
A resident at Dyfrig House commented;
“When you come in this building it lifts you, it makes you feel like you want to become better than what people have said you are. It’s made a difference to my life and I know it’s made a difference to every other person in this place; that’s 21 lives. You’re enabling me to get my life back when no one else would do that for me. It’s a very, very special place indeed.”
